Crypto Profit & Loss Calculator
Calculate the theoretical profit or loss of a long crypto position using entry price, current price, investment amount and leverage.
Theoretical long-position P&L, excluding fees and liquidation
How this calculator works
Enter the entry price, current price, investment amount and leverage for a long position. The result shows theoretical profit or loss in dollars and as a percentage of the invested amount.
Investment amount is treated as margin when leverage exceeds 1x. The calculation assumes the position remains open and excludes fees, funding payments, slippage and liquidation. It does not model short positions. A large leveraged loss may trigger liquidation before the displayed theoretical loss occurs.
Profit or loss = investment amount × leverage × (current price − entry price) ÷ entry price. An entry price of $60,000, current price of $65,000 and $1,000 investment at 1x gives about $83.33 profit before costs. At 2x, the theoretical profit is about $166.67.
Common questions
Does this calculate a liquidation price?
No. Liquidation depends on the exchange’s maintenance margin, fees and collateral rules, which this calculator does not model.
Can I use it for a short position?
No. This tool models a long position: price increases generate gains and price decreases generate losses.
